At around 9am on Wednesday, Nov. 26 smoke and ash benched into the sky from the volcano Mt. Aso in Kumamoto Prefecture on the island of Kyushu, Japan. It was the first eruption of this scale in 19 years. Smoke and ash rose as high as 1,000m into the sky. Access to the area has been cut off to a 1 kilometer perimeter. Based on data collected, authorities say there is a strong possibility that the eruptions will continue.
