Hello there,
I am an English teacher currently living in Japan and will be relocating from Tokyo to Fukuoka in August 2012. I am a medical graduate from the United Kingdom, have a postgraduate Business Masters degree from The University of Queensland, Australia, and also posses a CELTA English teaching qualification from RMIT University, Melbourne, with a “Pass A” grade.
I have been teaching English in Japan for 1 year, most of which has been with Berlitz Language School and the remainder of which has been individual contractor work. My experience is primarily with adults, however I also have some experience teaching children in their mid-to-late teens. I teach medical and business English (with separate university qualifications in both fields, as mentioned previously) and this includes helping students with their OET medical English exams and TOEIC.
In terms of myself as a teacher, I am friendly, supportive and always eager to provide my students with lessons that are satisfying for them. I will adapt my teaching style to the way in which I perceive you, the student, will derive the most benefit from it. Additionally, if you have any special requests for lessons, for example, if you want strict correction of your grammar, help with pronunciation of specific sounds, or if you want to work from any specific learning materials, I am more than happy to accommodate any such requests.
If you like in central Fukuoka and are seeking private lessons (or small group lessons with one or two other people you know), please feel free to get in touch. We can then arrange a trial lesson at a convenient place (such as a local cafe) and a convenient time for you.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to hearing from you!
