The Fukuoka Marathon is coming up! The Fukuoka Marathon Expo will be held next to the runners’ check-in (the actual marathon will take place on Nov. 8, Sun.). The booths at the event will offer many of Fukuoka’s specialities, especially seafood, such as fried Karadomari Ebisu Oysters. Official goods made by sports companies, as well as traditional crafts, will be sold at the expo. Special stage events will include a live singing performance by Fukuoka-born J-Pop artist, Mariya Nishiuchi, and an interview with Tochi Ueyama, author of Cooking Papa and one of the winners of this year’s Fukuoka Culture Prize, one of Japan’s longest-running manga series.
