The government of Thailand has announced that it will close its Fukuoka offices by the end of the year as part of streamlining efforts. Opened in 1990, Thai Trade Center Fukuoka worked to match Thai exporters with Japanese counterparts in Kyushu. It is slated for closure at the end of next March. Meanwhile, the Fukuoka office of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, which opened in 1992, will be shut at the end of January.The duties assumed by the respective offices will be handed off to Thailand’s offices in Osaka.
