Typhoon #15 GONI Approaching Kyushu

As you may have already heard, this season’s 15th typhoon (GONI) is approaching Kyushu. We are expecting to receive very heavy rainfall and strong winds in the next few days. Please take precautionary measures by avoiding low-lying areas, shorelines of rivers and coastal regions until the storm passes. Also, please be certain to follow any safety instructions issued by your local municipalities, as well as updated news and local weather forecasts.

As of Monday, Aug. 24, 5am the forecast for the Fukuoka area looks like this:

• The typhoon will be at its strongest in Fukuoka at around 9am on Tuesday morning.
• 120 mm of rain is forecasted for the Northern Kyushu region
• Precautions are advised between Monday evening and all day Tuesday
