Four giant floats, each 10m tall, weighing 2.5t and with 12 traditional decorated flags are carried through the town during the day. In the evening the decorations change to create a “Pyramid of Light”, 309 paper lanterns in 12 tiers. This is paraded through the town to shouts of “Yoitosa! Yoitosa!”.
