Fukuoka’s international bar and club scene expands with the opening of the foreign-owned nightclub, Infinity. Hawaiian owner Ryan La France chose Daimyo rather than Oyafukodori to attract a more sophisticated clientele. He combined his skills as a former hotel restaurant chef and interior designer to create a space where the music is hip, but not too loud, and where you can enjoy delicious dishes at reasonable prices. That’s not to say this place is always mellow–on weekends Infinity becomes a bustling dance club with a thumping sound system. Ryan’s Hawaiian roots are reflected in his fusion cuisine such as Fried Poke, a marinated fish with wakame and Thai sweet chili sauce, and the Kahlua Quesadilla, a twist on the Mexican standard with Hawaiian-style roasted pork. All dishes can be enjoyed with any cocktail, including a full range of premium liquors. The lounge is open to all on weekdays, and on weekends the purchase of a bottle entitles you and your friends to comfy seats, table service, ice and mixers until your bottle is empty.
