On Mar. 10 Hakata Daimaru began work on revamping its food floor (B2) for the first time in 10 years. The entire second basement floor of the Eastern Building and a large section of the Main Building’s second basement floor will be redone in six stages. The butchery counter will open on Apr. 23 before the rest of the other shops, and the entire renovation is expected to be finished by late September. Daimaru has invested ¥1 billion in the renewal and anticipates a 20% increase in sales volume.
