The Danish “fast nicknack” retail chain, Flying Tiger opened their first shop in Kyushu just off of Nishi-dori in Tenjin today. The shop is filled with vividly colored mass produced goods ranging from home appliances to stationery and toys. Tiger is a Danish design store with a quirky, ever-changing selection of own-designed and branded products at affordable prices. The first Tiger store opened in Copenhagen in 1995 and it has since expanded to become a worldwide phenomenon, with 450 stores worldwide, 17 of these in Japan. Flying Tiger plans to expand to 50 shops in Japan by 2020.
