An event dubbed Shoku no Miyako Fukuoka (Food Capital Fukuoka) will be held in the plaza on the west side of City Hall 3/21 (Fri)~23 (Sun) from 10:00 to 20:00 (ends at 17:00 on final day). Aimed at promoting Fukuoka Prefecture’s local foods and speciality goods, the event features 50 food booths offering everything from yakitori to sweets. There is also a special booth where you can taste various locally-made sake and soy sauce as well as tents sponsored by Kirin Beer and Saibu Gas. At 19:00 on 3/21, there will be a dinner party at Nishitetsu Grand Hotel featuring a full course meal made from local ingredients by Michelin star chefs Uwe Opocensky, Executive Chef, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong and Daniel Lopez, Oer/Chef Restaurant “KOKOTXA”, Spain (Cost: ¥20,000).
