Fukuoka Zoo Welcomes Tsushima Leopard Cat Kittens

On Apr. 13, the Fukuoka City Zoo announced the birth of three Tsushima leopard cats, a nationally protected species that they have been trying to breed. This was the first leopard cat birth in captivity since April 2014, Including these three newborns, there are currently 11 leopard cats at the Fukuoka Zoo. The birth is invaluable as zoos around Japan have had trouble breeding leopard cats, especially as the age of the cats increases. Fukuoka Zoo said “we will care of young leopard cats to help them continue their breeding.” Source: Nishinippon Shimbun 4/15
