On Apr. 16, JR Oita City, the new station building developed by JR Kyushu will open. Floors 19 through 21 are home to CIty Spa Tenku, a hot spring with a stunning view of the city and Beppu Bay. (The hot spring opens on Apr. 23.) Floors one through four are occupied by Amu Plaza Oita, which features 224 shops covering 36,000m2 of retail space, including 17 shops opening in Kyushu for the first time.
