Koga City Subsidizes Regular Employment

On Apr. 1 Koga City began offering monthly subsidies of ¥5,000~10,000 per person for companies within the city that hire new transplants as regular employees. The aim is to provide steady employment opportunities for city residents, and subsidies also apply to part-time and temp workers converted to regular employees. Koga City has budgeted ¥6 million for the initiative for this fiscal year. Subsidies are granted to companies that hire people on a regular, full-time basis for at least six months and vary depending on the whether the employees are recent transplants or former residents returning to the city. Companies can receive subsidies for a maximum of five employees up to two years. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun 4/3
