Hakutsu Technology and Waseda University, working at Hakutsu’s headquarters in the Kitakyushu Science and Research Park, have jointly developed an automatic control system for LEDs that adjusts the level of lighting in offices depending on the amount of natural light available. They say the system can reduce LED power consumption by 30%. It was developed over a period of three years with 12 million yen in financial assistance from the city of Kitakyushu.
