Several new services targeting foreign visitors have started popping up around the city. Canal City Hakata has added 10 new sightseeing bus spaces to accommodate the uptick in tourists, and Iwataya-Mitsukoshi now offers telephone interpreting in four languages—English, Korean, Chinese and Thai. Meanwhile, the Bank of Fukuoka has hired full-time staff for its currency exchange counter, which handles 16 currencies and offers support in English, Chinese and Korean.
