The Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry announced a new fund has been established to assist in the reconstruction of small businesses in Kyushu. The fund has been capitalized with three billion yen, and those with a financial stake include the Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Oita Bank, Fukuoka Bank, Howa Bank, and other institutions. Informed sources say this is the 19th fund for helping small companies in Japan, but the first to cover such a wide geographical area.
