On April 25 Fukuoka Airport opened a new worship room for Muslim persons on the 4th floor of the International Terminal. This is the second airport in Kyushu following Kagoshima Airport to provide such a facility. They began to seriously consider providing this facility after they surpassed 1,000,000 passengers in a single year back in 2012. The room is open to non-Muslims too. Approximately ¥3,5000,000 was spent to prepare the room with an air conditioner, waterworks and azimuth. A cafe in the same terminal also began offering a Muslim-friendly menu without pork and alcohol.
