New Scheme Allows Hayaka-Ken For Car Sharing

The Fukuoka City Transportation Bureau has announced a new service under which the Hayaka-ken contactless subway card can be used for a car sharing service run by Times 24. The new service goes into effect on May 29 in six parking lots around Meinohama Station and one near Maidashi Kyudai Byoin-mae Station. First-time users who register with Times 24 will receive a discount equivalent to 15 minutes of car time on their next use, provided they used their Hayaka-ken to ride to either of the two aforementioned stations for the first ride. The City’s objective for the new scheme is to alleviate congestion in Tenjin in Hakata by encouraging people to take subways to the car sharing locations outside of the city center.
