On July 31, Nishijin Mall Praliva (Sawara Ward) will close its doors after 34 years. Originally opened as the Nishijin Iwataya in 1981, the building will be torn down to make way for a 30-story mixed-use building. After a manju giveaway at 18:12 (a time chosen based on Praliva’s 12 years of history), a closing ceremony will be held at 19:30 and the shutters will be closed for the final time at 20:00.
