Nishitetsu Creates New Bus Passes For Korean Tourists

Starting in February Nishinippon Railroad Co. will begin selling special bus passes targeting Korean tourists. The passes will be sold both locally and in Korea. The company previously sold travel passes overseas that were aimed at domestic tourists, but these are the first such passes developed specifically to address the needs of a foreign tourists. The number of foreign visitors to Kyushu was already on the rise due to the weak yen and the national government’s promotional efforts, but Nishitetsu hopes the new passes will attract even more visitors to Kyushu. (Approximately half of all tourists who visited Kyushu between January and October last year were Korean.) A one-day all you can ride pass that covers the city center, Fukuoka Airport and other shopping centers outside of downtown will cost ¥750 (¥380 for kids), while a pass that includes the Tabito Dazaifu Liner bus will cost ¥1,500 (¥750 for kids).
