In an interview with Nishinippon Shimbun, Kozo Makiyama, the president of Tokyo-based Parco mentioned plans to add “around a dozen new shops” in main building of Parco Fukuoka by next spring. A final decision on the new tenants, who will join the roughly 150 current ones, will be made after the company sees how “customers respond to the New Building [which opened in November].” The addition of the new space, which will actually be located on the 4th floor of Solaria Stage just to the south of the Main Building, will bring Parco’s total sales floor area up to 20,000 m2, making it the largest fashion retailer in Tenjin. President Makiyama also alluded to the possibility of even more expansion in the future: “The New Building and this new floor space are just the beginning. If it’s right for us, I’d like to rent another building in Tenjin.” Source: Nishinippon Shimbun 12/23
