Mitsubishi Nagasaki Machinery, the Nagasaki Institute of Applied Science, and Nagasaki City announced they will build a plant in the city to process sewage sludge into solid fuel under high temperatures. The gas generated in the process will be used as a heat source in the plant. It will be the first plant of its type in the nation. Work will begin in July, and operation is expected to begin next January.
