Fukuoka Prefecture opened a Relocation Housing Portal to serve as a one-stop site for employment, housing and other useful information for people thinking about moving to Fukuoka. Users who access the portal can search available properties as well as information on the child-rearing support and health and welfare programs offered by all 60 municipalities in Fukuoka Prefecture. The site also features videos testimonials from people who have moved to Fukuoka. According to a Prefecture official, depopulation is already a major issue for some of the the Prefecture’s municipalities, so the Prefectural Office hopes to bolster publicity and attract people from Japan’s major urban areas as a means to promote regional revitalization.
