The Kyushu Economic Research Center released the results of its study of the employment situation for university graduates in the Kyushu/Yamaguchi Prefecture area. University graduates in the region account for 19% of all employees, less than the 24% nationwide average. This is attributed to the flow of graduates to Tokyo and other larger cities to seek work.
