Saga Airport unveiled its new international terminal to the press on Dec. 6. Slated to open on Dec. 18, the 2400 m2, 3-story building cost ¥900 billion to complete. The walls and ceiling of the 2nd floor waiting area made ample use of Japanese cedar, and the terminal also houses a 50 m2 duty-free shop featuring more than 2000 items. A Chinese low-cost carrier currently operates three round-trip flights a week between Saga Airport and Shanghai. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun 12/7
