Forty-year old Soichiro Takashima won a landslide victory for a second term as mayor of Fukuoka City in an election held on Sunday, Nov. 16. Of the 1,170,00 eligible voters only 38.73% cast votes, down from 43.67% in 2010. However Takashima scored a record number of votes with 256,064, more than Hiroshi Yoshida who finished in second place with 116,330 votes.
