Fukuoka City has announced that it will open a Startup Cafe on the 3rd floor of Tsutaya Books Tenjin as part of its Special Zone for Global Startups and Job Creation (one of the Japanese government’s National Strategic Zones). The cafe will open on Oct. 11 along with a national government Labor Consultation Center. The City will outsource the management of the cafe to Cafe Culture Club, Tsutaya’s parent company and has budgeted ¥35 million for outsourcing fees in fiscal 2014. A coordinator from Fukuoka-based investment company Dogan Inc. will be stationed at the new cafe to offer advice on startups and refer visitors to lawyers. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun 9/24
