On Feb. 26 the Fukuoka Marathon Organizing Committee announced that this year’s Fukuoka Marathon will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8. Hosted by the cities of Fukuoka and Itoshima and the Fukuoka Track and Field Association, this will be the second year for the citizens’ marathon. The Committee will add 100 new charity slots that guarantee spots to people who donate at least ¥100,000 and double the number of slots for local residents to 2,000. The course will remain the same as last year. The Committee will start accepting applications on Apr. 20. The charity slots will be offered online on a first come, first serve basis.
