The organizing committee for the Tokyo Girls Collection (TGC), one of Japan’s major fashion shows, has announced its next show will be held in Kitakyushu on Oct. 17. At a press conference, model Yu Yamada said she wants to make the city “genki” with the show. The TGC has taken place primarily in the Tokyo area since its conception in 2005, but recent efforts to take the show on the road brought it to Miyazaki in 2011 and 2013. Officials from Fukuoka Prefecture and Kitakyushu City will also sit on the organizing committee. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun 7/30
