Kitakyushu-based industrial robot giant Yaskawa Electric posted record high sales and net profits for the fiscal year ended March 2015. With brisk sales of the company’s trademark robots and controllers, Yaskawa posted sales of ¥135.9 billion, a 10.9% increase year-on-year and the fifth straight increase. The primary drivers for the stepped up sales are the weak yen and brisk demand overseas, especially in China. On Apr. 20, Yaskawa released its 10-year management strategy which outlines plans to double sales by 2025 and push ordinary profits above the ¥100 billion mark. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun 4/21
