Over 30 years ago, three high school friends from Korean, Sri Lankan and Yugoslavian immigrant backgrounds started a band in the western suburbs of Sydney, Australia. The band was the Hard-Ons and they went on to become one of the most respected pop punk bands in the world. Fans of the Hard-Ons include Joey and CJ Ramone (Ramones), Dave Grohl(Nirvana/Foo Fighters), Jello Biafra(Dead Kennedys), The Damned, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, UK Subs, Radio Birdman, Saints, MC5, Sepultura and the Melvins to name only a few.

The Hard-Ons are touring Japan in August and are playing Fukuoka on August 30th as part of their 30th anniversary world tour. They will be touring as a 4 piece with original drummer/vocalist Keish De Silva on vocal duties performing with other members Blackie, Murray and Ray. As well as a 30th anniversary world tour, the band will be releasing a new album, a double CD reissue of the 1990 album ‘Yummy’ and also a limited edition 7-inch split record series with the Melvins, The Necks, Neil Hamburger Tokyo’s Slight Slappers. For people in Fukuoka it will be an opportunity to witness and celebrate the music and energy that has thrilled people the world over for more than 30 years. Also playing on the night are Mass Collapse, Eevee, Jyurin, TV Orphans, Hurricane Grind and Damage Digital.
