IKEA To Open Mini-Store In Kumamoto

The Japanese subsidiary of Swedish furniture giant Ikea has announced it will open a new mini-store in Kumamoto City this October. The mini-store, Ikea’s first in Japan, will be about 1/10 the size of the Fukuoka Shingu store. The shop will not have a large-scale showroom; rather, customers will be able to browse catalogs or the internet for items they want and submit their orders at the mini-store. The store, which will be Ikea’s ninth in Japan, is scheduled to include a cafe where customers can enjoy light meals and coffee. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun 8/27
