Applications are open for the 2014 International Artists-in-Residence Program. The purpose of this program is to offer a creative environment for emerging overseas artists in Aso district, which is famous for having one of the largest calderas in the world with breathtaking scenic beauty of the most extensive grasslands in Japan. The residency allows artists to stay in one Aso’s five districts for 70 days, during which they will create artwork/s with an Aso motif. As part of the residency, artists are asked to create an exhibition of their work too.
