The cities of Fukuoka and Itoshima will consolidate five of their annual music events into one mega-event, Fukuoka Music Month 2014, starting this September. The events in question are Itoshima’s Sunset Live and Fukuoka’s Nakasu Jazz, Asia Music Found, Music City Tenjin and Kyushu Gospel Festival—the last of which is new this year. Although all of the music events have separate organizers, they all fall in September, so Kenjiro Fukamachi, a Fukuoka-based entertainer and music producer, will serve as the overall producer as per his suggestion to “combine the events to better publicize Fukuoka in Japan and Asia in light of its history as a city of artists and musicians”. Fukamachi says he would like to consider selling joint tickets for all of the events next year and hold a music-themed parade. Fukuoka Mayor Takashima said he would look into the parade idea in relation to relaxed regulations on outdoor events in the National Strategic Zone. Source: QBIZ.JP 7/31 HP: http://f-musicmonth.jp
