Fukuoka Selected To Host Rugby World Cup In 2019

The organising body for the Rugby World Cup announced today in Dublin, Ireland, that Fukuoka City was selected as one of twelves cities in Japan to host matches for Rugby World Cup in 2019. The two other cities in Kyushu selected were Kumamoto City and Oita City. The process for deciding where the various national camps will be located will be announced in 2016. Speaking at a media conference in Dublin, Rugby World Cup Limited Chairman Bernard Lapasset said: “This is an important milestone for the tournament. Now we know exactly where the matches will be staged in Japan and, more importantly, the people of those cities and fans around the world can start planning for the big event. Congratulations to Fukuoka!
