On Jan. 13 Fukuoka Prefecture installed a petition corner in the first floor lobby of the Prefectural Office as part of its Rugby World Cup 2019 bid efforts. The corner, which also features rugby-themed banners and posters, will be open weekdays until Jan. 23 and was installed at the behest of the Fukuoka Rugby World Cup 2019 Promotion Committee, a group that is working to ensure that some of the World Cup matches are held in Level Five Stadium. The Civic Culture and Sports Section is urging residents to stop by the Prefectural Office to sign the petition; it is also accepting signatures by post and fax. Eighty-five people signed the petition on the first day. Source: Nishinippon Shimbun 1/14
